Getting Started

  • Overcome is for busy adults who are tired of quick fixes/social media trends and want a practical plan to lose fat, get stronger, and feel better in their body. Many of our clients have tried several diets or random workouts before and notice a significant difference when they are supported by expert guidance and accountability.

  • Nope. We meet you exactly where you’re at. Whether you’re brand new to strength training or getting back into it after a break, we’ll customize your program to your current fitness level.

  • After you book your free call, you will receive an email confirmation and a calendar invite.

When the time comes, Coach Nathan or another member of the Overcome team will reach out to learn more about you, your goals, and how Overcome may be able to help.

From there, you will book an in-person strategy session with Coach Nathan. During that session, you will review more specific details about your health, training history, goals, schedule, and any obstacles that may get in your way.

If you have time, we encourage you to complete the Training Program Questionnaire before your strategy session. This helps save time and allows more of the session to be spent on strategy, planning, and next steps.

  • On your 15-minute call, we’ll talk through your goals, challenges, and what you’ve tried before. You’ll leave with clear next steps and an honest recommendation on whether Overcome coaching is the right fit for you.

  • Absolutely. Overcome works with many beginners, including clients who had never worked with a coach or stepped foot in a gym before joining.

If you are new to the gym, your coaching will start with the basics. Your coach will help you learn proper form, build confidence, understand what you are doing, and progress at a pace that makes sense for you.

Coaching Memberships

  • A coaching membership is an ongoing coaching service designed to help you make steady progress with your training, nutrition, habits, and accountability.

At Overcome, you are not purchasing a package of personal training sessions. You are joining a coaching membership that includes personal training as one of the main pillars of support, along with individualized programming, nutrition coaching, habit-building, accountability, and communication with your coach.

Your membership is built around your goals, your schedule, your current fitness level, and the level of support you need. The in-person training sessions are only one part of the coaching process. The goal is to help you build a stronger, healthier lifestyle that you can actually sustain.

  • Overcome doesn’t sell fixed session or training packages. Instead, we offer several membership options so you get the ongoing support you need to actually hit your goals, rather than just a countdown of sessions.

For more information on the memberships we offer, CLICK HERE.

  • Overcome no longer offers the option to start training once per week.

The first several sessions are spent reviewing movement patterns, improving exercise form, building confidence, and helping you understand how to train effectively. Clients who start at once per week usually take much longer to build momentum and see results compared to clients who start at 2x per week.

Starting at 2x or 3x per week also allows your coach to provide a higher level of service from the beginning. This gives you more practice, more feedback, and more consistency during the most important part of the coaching process.

If finding 2 hours for training and roughly 1 hour for round-trip travel feels impossible, that is usually an important part of the conversation. In many cases, the schedule and lifestyle barriers need to be addressed first so your coaching plan is realistic.

  • If you travel a lot for work, you’re in the right place. Overcome N&F Coaching is built to be flexible. We design travel-friendly workouts you can do in a hotel gym or with minimal equipment and adjust your plan around flights, meetings, and time zones. We’ll also give you simple nutrition strategies for eating on the road so you can keep making progress, even when you’re not at home.

Billing, Terms, & Cancellation

  • When you sign up for a coaching membership, your membership dues are charged automatically to your payment method on file every two weeks.

Rather than paying once per month, your billing runs on a bi-weekly schedule. This means your payment is processed every two weeks for as long as your membership remains active.

  • A month-to-month membership gives you more flexibility. You can cancel your membership at any time with 30 days’ notice. If any membership invoices fall within that 30-day notice period, you are responsible for those invoices, and you will still receive the coaching services paid for during that time.

An annual membership is a 12-month agreement that rewards your commitment with a reduced billing rate for the duration of the membership. Annual memberships automatically renew each year unless canceled at least 30 days before the final active day of the membership. A renewal notice will be sent to your email 45 days before your renewal date.

  • Yes. After signing up, you have 3 business days to cancel your membership and receive a refund on your purchase minus services rendered in that time frame. Afterwards, all memberships require 30 days’ cancellation notice.

Month-to-month memberships can be canceled at any time with 30 days’ notice.

Annual memberships can only be canceled without penalty at the time of renewal. If you cancel an annual membership early, you will owe the difference between what you have already paid and what you would have paid at the current month-to-month Gold membership rate for your training frequency.

  • Overcome offers a variety of memberships and programs that fit most budgets year-round to help meet most people where they are at.
We DO NOT discount our coaching services. The time, energy, support, and intention put into every client’s plan is consistent regardless of their membership tier or type.
What most people ignore when it comes to their health is that everything you do, and don’t do, has a cost. You either choose the best option for you now or continue paying with your time, stress, sleep, and feeling stuck. Only one of these options will pay you back. If you are done going in circles, but aren’t sure what option is best for you, let’s chat!

Session Credits & Missed Time

  • If you are unable to come in to train, you can bank the session credit for later use. Many clients choose to come in an extra day for a few weeks to catch up on missed sessions. Our scheduling system automatically uses your oldest available credits first.

For planned, extended travel, Silver and Gold memberships can be frozen for up to 4 billing cycles (8 weeks) at a time. During the freeze period, your membership rate will be reduced to the current Freeze Membership rate.

A doctor’s note is required to freeze a VIP Membership at any time for any reason, or to extend a Silver or Gold membership freeze beyond the standard freeze period. VIP Memberships cannot be frozen for travel. Instead, you may bank your session credits for later use or receive alternative workouts tailored to the equipment and environment available to you while traveling, provided we know your plans in advance.

Memberships that remain unused for 4 months, regardless of freeze status, may be subject to cancellation.

  • Yes. Unused session credits roll over to the next billing cycle.

Session credits are used in order from oldest to newest by default within the same membership. This helps make sure older credits are used first whenever possible.

  • Yes. Unused session credits may expire if they are left unused for a substantial amount of time.

If you still have extra session credits at the time of cancellation, you and your coach will create a plan to schedule the remaining sessions. After the remaining sessions have been scheduled, any session credits left unused will be forfeited.

Inactive memberships may not carry unused session credits.

Training, Nutrition, & Coaching Support

  • Nutrition coaching is available as a stand-alone service on a case-by-case basis.

For more information about nutrition coaching only, email nathan@overcomenutritionandfitness.com.

In general, nutrition coaching and remote coaching include habit tracking, some form of nutrition tracking, weekly check-ins, and weekly activity targets.

  • Yes, although the remote coaching website page is still under construction.

Currently, remote coaching operates as an online-only version of the Silver Membership. Instead of one in-person training session per week, remote coaching includes one weekly check-in.

Remote coaching may include programming, nutrition support, habit tracking, activity targets, and ongoing accountability depending, on the client’s needs.

  • Overcome coaches are not physical therapists, and Overcome does not provide physical therapy or rehabilitation services.

That said, movement is often an important part of returning to normal training and activity. When appropriate, Overcome is happy to work alongside your physical therapist and adjust your training around most injuries, provided the support needed is within our scope of practice.

If your needs fall outside of our scope, we may recommend working directly with a qualified medical provider or physical therapist.

Location, Access, and Apps

  • Yes. However, the base membership needed to access CoreFitness RVA is included in the price of your Overcome membership.

If CoreFitness RVA changes its base membership rate, Overcome will apply that change according to the terms of each individual’s membership type.

  • CoreFitness RVA has 4 reserved parking spaces marked with a skull in the parking lot behind Wood and Iron as you enter Scott’s Addition from Roseneath Rd..

There is also street parking available around the gym in Scott’s Addition.

The entrance to the gym is located at the back right corner of the parking lot.

  • All in-person clients will need GymMaster to physically access CoreFitness RVA. No scheduling is done via GymMaster, and per CoreFitness RVA policy, all attending/active members of the gym must have a payment method saved on file, regardless of billing status. The GymMaster calendar is primarily used for: 1) security and 2) letting other coaches and staff members know who is in the gym and at what time, ensuring everyone can provide and have the best possible training experience. To purchase concessions from CoreFitness RVA, use the store in the app.

All in-person clients will have an account with Overcome via Naamly, our CRM and long-time partner. Within the Naamly Client Portal, you can manage your account information, billing information, training schedule, and view documents your coach has uploaded, or upload documents yourself.

A client version of the Naamly app is in development as of May 2026.

All training programs are delivered through the BridgeTracker app.

Some VIP clients are currently helping beta test a new coaching app. More information will be available later in 2026.
